Import or customs charges
The customer is solely responsible for all import or customs charges, duties and levies.
Postage/mailing
The price quoted includes despatch by standard air mail to any country in the world. This is not a tracked service. If you want to use any form of tracked mailing, signed for service or courier, you must contact us before ordering in order to establish which additional charges will be payable.
Please note that items sent internationally can take up to one month to clear customs. If your CD has not arrived after 28 days from the date of your order, please contact us to resolve the situation.
Recording media
All Romantic Discoveries Recordings releases are issued on a bespoke basis on premium CD-R stock. For our main series (not the Archive series), the recording process is entirely digital from the studio sessions to the finished article.
Our CDs are tested in a variety of players to establish their compatibility. Some very old CD players have difficulties with CDs produced on CD-R stock, which was first introduced in the early 1990s. For best results, please use a compatible CD player.
All CDs are supplied in a slimline jewel case with a printed label and insert.
CD-R degradation
Despite our best efforts, CD-R media may suffer some degree of degradation or “bronzing” over time. In recognition of this, we offer a lifetime file replacement service for which you need only pay postage costs. If your CD-R has degraded, we will supply you with mp3 files for the disc on a replacement CD-R for you to transfer to your computer’s hard drive or burn to a new CD-R as you wish. We do not supply .wav masters on disc.
To take advantage of this offer, simply send your original disc back to us, retaining the CD insert and jewel case, and enclose a prepaid self-addressed mailer/packet capable of taking the number of discs you require (for orders from outside the UK please contact us to remit postage costs in advance). We will then send you your file CD-Rs. Please note that these data discs cannot be played in an audio CD player, and are packaged in paper sleeves. They do not come with jewel cases, inserts or labels. These discs are intended as a means of supplying you with the disc’s files in mp3 format only. We will retain your degraded disc and analyse it to help us in our continued attempts to address this problem.
This service is separate from the replacement of CD-Rs with actual manufacturing faults or which have been damaged in transit. See the next section for information about this.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
All orders are final at the point when they are placed.
Romantic Discoveries Recordings will offer a refund in the event that a CD is found to be faulty in manufacture. If your CD is faulty, please return it in its packaging for either a replacement or a refund as you choose, with a description of the problem so that we can investigate the fault and improve our product. We will apply your postage costs (standard air mail only) towards your replacement or refund.
If your CD is damaged on arrival, please contact us with a description of the problem so that we can do our best to remedy the situation and arrange for a replacement CD to be sent. You may need to pay postage costs if the damage has been caused by factors beyond our control, ie. through the fault of the postal service.
In accordance with the European Union Distance Selling Directive and Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, Romantic Discoveries Recordings CDs are bespoke products made to order for each client, and are therefore not subject to the “cooling off” period provided for in the Regulations.
Romantic Discoveries Recordings reserves the right to refund payments using its preferred method of payment.
Because each CD is manufactured to order, it is standard practice for Romantic Discoveries Recordings to despatch orders some days after the placing of the order rather than immediately as is the case with retailers who carry stock. Please note that we do not normally send an acknowledgement of your order other than the automated receipt that PayPal provides for your transaction. Please email us if you want to check the status of your order.
This policy does not affect your statutory rights.
